Last week six UNSW researchers had the honour of speaking at this year’s Science at the Shine Dome event in Canberra.
Dr Cindy Gunawan is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Particle and Catalysis research group (PARTCAT), School of Chemical Engineering, UNSW Australia. Dr Gunawan graduated from UNSW Australia as Bachelor of Engineering in Bioprocess Engineering with The University Medal in 2002.
Emeritus Professor Noel Cant died late last week after losing his battle against lymphoma. He was a good friend and colleague of David Trimm.
Congratulations to three Taste of Research (TOR) Scholars: Edwin Chia (3rd year), Liu Hua Bo (3rd year) and Adrian Suyanto (2nd year) for completing the Taste of Research 2013/2014.
The efficacy of nanosilver to supress certain disease causing pathogens has been well documented, thus nanosilver has been widely used in medicine for its antimicrobial and disinfecting properties, for example as coating in bandages and wound dressings.
Synthesizing highly conductive Reduced Graphene Oxide using TiO2 photocatalysis reaction
Congratulations to Dr Yun Hau Ng for the award of Best Oral Presentation by ECR at Oz Carbon 2013 conference, held in Melbourne.
Yun Hau was presenting his work on ‘Reduced graphene oxide from photocatalytic reactions’ .
Dr Cordelia Selomulya is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Monash University.
Congratulations to Dr Yijiao Jiang and Prof Rose Amal who were successful in receiving funding in the 2013 round of ARC Discovery Projects.
Congratulations to Dr Yijiao Jiang for being awarded the Young Researcher Award at the 6th Asia Pacific Congress on Catalysis (APTCAT – 6) in Taiwan.
